What Is Flat Knitting Elastic Band
Elastic Cord & Webbing is the only name you need to know for braided elastic. Braided flat elastic is employed in countless uses, including sporting goods, tool bags, swimsuits, and much more. We offer the widths, materials, stretch ratings, and colors you need.
Braided elastic is often used for applications that require better quality material in narrow widths. Our braided elastic is comprised of industrial strength latex rubber with a fiber covering (cotton elastic, polyester elastic or nylon elastic). Regardless of the covering material, all braided elastic performs the same; it gets narrower when stretched, but always returns to normal size thanks to its excellent stretch retention (sometimes called “memory”).
The strength and durability of our braided elastic materials gives them longer lifespans than knitted elastic options. The added durability is a result of the production process, in which the rubber and fiber are braided so closely that the elastic will still appear opaque, even at maximum stretch. Special cold weather braided elastic is available, as needed (see below for more).
